Get ready, Toronto! The city’s fluffiest showdown is back for its fourth year, with the return of Pillow Fight Toronto.
Happening this Saturday, April 12, tons of people will be heading down to Nathan Phillips Square to celebrate International Pillow Fight Day, armed with their pillow weapon of choice.
The fun festival is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in April in cities around the world, including New York, London, Madrid, Berlin, and Vienna.
*While originally planned for April 5, the event was postponed in Toronto to the 12th due to Toronto’s 191st birthday festival.
Believe it or not, the quirky tradition is also believed to be over a hundred years old, and has since evolved into a beloved spectacle, and Toronto proudly hosts one of the largest and most epic pillow fights on the planet.
Besides the sheer joy of whacking your friends (and strangers) with a pillow, this event brings people together in the most lighthearted way. It’s a chance to forget about work, school, and stress, and just have fun in the city’s biggest, fluffiest battle.
To keep things safe and fun for everyone, only light featherless pillows are officially allowed. Keep in mind, the page notes that there are always a few rebels who bend the rules, so stay alert.
Participants are encouraged to meet up at 1:30 p.m., as the battle kicks off a 2 p.m. sharp and lasts for about an hour.
We’ll see you on the battlefield!
When: Saturday, April 12 at 1:30 p.m.
