In honor of the contest’s 35th anniversary, Tim Hortons is modernizing Roll Up the Rim.
The iconic Canadian contest will be taking a new, more sustainable approach. The coffee-and-doughnut chain recently announced the changes of this year’s contest, including the customers’ ability to play the game digitally. [Featured image: @timhortons]
Roll Up the Rim will run from March 11th to April 7th, offering up to 17 million prizes in the four-week span. The physical Roll Up the Rim cups will only be available for the first two weeks of the contest.
If you’re a registered Tims Rewards member, you will receive a digital roll online or on the app if you purchase your hot beverage via card or app. Effectively, this gives you two chances to win one of the many prizes.
Non-registered Tims Rewards cards accumulate rolls that can be accessed once the card is registered. You have until April 21st to access the rolls on your card if you’re unregistered.
Beginning March 25th, contestants can play digitally online or through the Tim Hortons app.
Hortons is rewarding customers who buy their beverages with reusable cups — available all four weeks of the contest — with three rolls on the app with each purchase and even more chances to win big.
On March 10th, the chain plans to giveaway 1.8 million reusable cups to the public.
Another change this year is the decision to do away with Please Play Again. Instead, registered Tims Rewards members that scan but don’t win through their digital rolls will be entered into one of four $100,000 lotteries. This contest does not apply to those who bought paper cups.
The other prizes include:
- Over 17 million coffee and food prizes, including NEW Dream Donuts
- 45,000 $25 TimCards
- 200 Samsung 55” NU6900 Smart 4K UHD TVs
- 150$1,000 CIBC Prepaid Cards
- 100 40,000 AIR MILES® Reward Miles – enough for a trip for two
- 10 2020 Hyundai IONIQ Electric or Hybrid Vehicles
Beginning March 11 Canadians will have the chance win big.
