Toronto’s food and drink scene is having a moment, from having some of the world’s best steakhouses to the number one pizza maker. Now, we can add the city’s world-class cocktail scene to our accolades, as we just received yet another massive nod of approval on the international stage.
Six of the city’s most beloved drinking dens have officially been named among the best in the continent. On March 31, the prestigious “North America’s 50 Best Bars” revealed its extended 51–100 ranking for 2026, and Toronto made a serious splash with half a dozen spots securing a place on the list.

Leading the local pack at No. 54 is Civil Liberties, the Bloor West staple famous for its no-menu approach and bespoke creations tailored to your exact mood. Joining them is Cry Baby Gallery at No. 69, where you can sip complex elixirs like the scotch-based “Wild Water Kingdom” hidden behind a functioning art gallery.
Newcomers and veterans alike are sharing the spotlight this year. Suite 115, a moody, amber-hued speakeasy on Dundas West, made an impressive debut at No. 74 with its viral Hong Kong milk tea-inspired Old Fashioned. Other local winners include the nostalgic, hotel-lobby-themed Bar Mordecai (No. 94), the retro-inspired No Vacancy (No. 82), and the vibrant Slice of Life (No. 96).

The extended list serves as a high-spirited teaser for the main event on April 22, when the official Top 50 will be crowned at a live ceremony in Vancouver. With Toronto already claiming six spots in the top 100, local cocktail enthusiasts have plenty of reasons to raise a glass to the city’s thriving bar culture.
