It’s officially Pride Month and Pride Toronto has a whole calendar of events planned to celebrate all month long.
Here is the list of the Pride Toronto events for every Friday of the month:
Friday June 4th 2021:
- 1-2pm: Anti-Oppression Training, Anti-Asian Racism and Oppression Workshop hosted by Alliance for South Asian Aids Prevention (ASAAP) on Zoom.
- 4pm: Sipz and Snax, a Youtube and IG Live where a LGBTQIA2S+ mixologist or chef walk you through a drink and snack pairing. This week, it will be Jenn of Quench Bar.
Friday June 11th 2021:
- 1-2pm: Anti-Oppression Training, Challenging Fatphobia Workshop hosted by Pride Toronto with guests from Body Confidence Canada.
- 4pm: Sipz and Snax, hosted by Camellia Mayers this week.
Friday June 18th 2021:
- 2:30-3:30pm: 2Spirit Pride, a celebration of 2Spirit peoples and their contributions to the community, by and for 2Spirit community members.
- 4-5pm: Yalla Barra, a celebration of Middle Eastern folks in the 2SLGTBQIA+ community. Guest performers include: KeroPatra (a gender queer drag performer and HIV activist), Faith (Mona Mousa, a spoken word artist), el Hashem (a Lebanese-Canadian artist), and DJ Louay.
- 4pm: Sipz and Snax, hosted by Camellia Mayers this week.
- 5:30-6:30pm: Burlesque Hour, a vibrant lineup of entertainers from Toronto’s burlesque community curated by Dainty Smith and Stone cold Foxes.
- 7-8pm: Bitchcraft, a party series started by DJ Sofia Fly featuring brass heavy DJ sets, sultry songstresses and Drag preformances with visual backdrops created by Jessica Zepeda. Performers include Nicki Nastasia, Gay Jesus, The Noise Withc, Quezal, and Litney.
- 8:30-10pm: Back to the 80s, Opening Weekend Ceremony with DJ Donovan, featuring Stephanie Stevens, Buster Highman, TIKA, Desiire, and TRP.P.
Friday June 25th 2021:
- 3-4pm: Trans Pride, this year’s Trans Rally and March was turned into a virtual celebration featuring speakers, performers and community engagement. It was curated by the Trans Pride Community Committee.
- 4pm: Sipz and Snax, hosted by Jenn of Quench Bar this week.
- 4:30-5:30pm: F*ck Sh*t Up!, a Trans and Non-Binary cabaret produced and hosted by Babia Majora and Fluffy Soufflé.
- 6-7pm: brOWN//out, a community space for South Asian queer and trans artists and a space for the disruption of anti-Blackness of “South Asian” spaces.
- 7:30-8:30pm: Catalyst, a virtual Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer Variety Show with contemporary Indigenous storytelling, art and performance. It is curated by Weird Alice and Ethan Dankert-Lannigan.
- 9-10pm: YES YES Y’ALL, one of Toronto’s most inclusive Queer bashment parties, with heavy emphasis on Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall and Soca. It is curated by Sammy Rawal and Nino Brown and hosted by EBHONI. In addition to them, the party will feature performances by DJs Jordior and Bambii, with visuals by blackpowerbarbie.
However you celebrate Pride, Pride Toronto has organized a whole variety of activities and events to keep us all connected and celebrating together despite the ongoing pandemic.
