Toronto’s enchanting winter carnival, Winter Glow, is set to make its highly anticipated return to Sankofa Square in downtown next month, promising ten days of festive brilliance.
Sankofa Square (previously known as Yonge-Dundas Square), will transform into a dazzling hub filled with lights, music, seasonal flavours, classic rides, and community spirit. Running from December 11 to 21, 2025, the annual event is now entering its third year, once again offering free admission to guests of all ages.

The festivities will officially commence on Thursday, December 11, with a spectacular Opening Night celebration starting at 5 p.m., inviting the community to gather for an evening of lights and music that perfectly sets the holiday tone. Key highlights of the inaugural evening include a special performance by My Pop Choir, the exciting launch of the season’s Ferris wheel and carousel rides, and the debut of the Holiday Market, providing early shoppers with a chance to explore artisan goods.
Guests can also enjoy seasonal beverages like mulled wine and spiked apple cider at the licensed Polar Point Bar, grab a festive picture with Santa Claus, and anticipate a variety of other surprises. Festive outfits are highly encouraged!

An exciting addition this year is the introduction of the Epilepsy Toronto Holiday Market, which you’ll find right within the core of the square. Stop by to shop a variety of local artisan vendors offering handmade gifts, alongside twinkling photo-op backdrops ideal for capturing the perfect holiday card moment. Purchases made at the market support Epilepsy Toronto’s vital community programs.
A major highlight is the return of the magnificent 45-foot-tall Ferris wheel, which offers spectacular views of the city skyline, along with the beautiful and nostalgic Great Canadian Carousel. Back by popular demand, the SHEIN Box Santa activation will be giving away over 6,000 free prizes to lucky attendees, running exclusively from December 11th to 14th.

Tickets for these attractions are available for purchase on-site, priced at $6 for a single ride, $20 for four, or $37 for eight. No holiday carnival experience would be complete without indulging in classic treats, and visitors are encouraged to enjoy popular items like mini donuts and hot chocolate before testing their skills at the classic midway games.
Admission to the Winter Glow is free for everyone, ensuring it remains an accessible holiday tradition for all. The festival runs daily from December 11th to December 21st. On weekdays, the hours are from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., while the festival opens earlier on Saturdays and Sundays, running from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Mark your calendars and prepare to experience the magic of Winter Glow at Sankofa Square!
