Canada’s largest theme park is gearing up to reopen for the 2025 season this spring, and it will be even more exciting with the arrival of a new record-breaking roller coaster!
Canada’s Wonderland will open its doors on May 8, 2025, bringing back its 200+ attractions, which includes 19 roller coasters, two children’s areas, and the 20-acre water park Splash Works.
New this year, much to the delight of thrill-seekers, will be the unveiling of the park’s tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster ever, named AlpenFury.
Spanning 1,000 metres of track, AlpenFury will become Wonderland’s 19th roller coaster.
Riders will be launched through the interior of Wonder Mountain before rocketing vertically 50 metres above its summit. The ride will then plunge into a series of intense twists and turns, featuring a remarkable nine inversions – the most of any launch coaster in the world!
Drawing inspiration from a mystical tale of fire and ice, the ride’s theme centers around the legends shared by villagers at the base of Wonder Mountain, who claim the peak is home to powerful forces and mythical beasts.
The roller coaster will resemble a sleek, modern sled, designed to take riders on an adventurous journey through the heart of Wonder Mountain and beyond.
“The temptation for adventure overcomes any trepidation you feel about facing the forces within,” reads the website.
“You board the sled and buckle in before being launched into the journey of a lifetime.”
Three of AlpenFury’s unique features you won’t find anywhere else in the world include The Fire Serpent Roll, a thrilling twist on the classic Sea Serpent Roll, sending riders through weightless inversions and featuring two unmatched near-miss moments between the train and track — all within a single element.
The Skyflyer Loop, a nod to the park’s former attraction, takes riders up a spiraling helix that peaks with a zero-G stall before plunging into a twisting, downward roll. Meanwhile, the Ice Winder Roll delivers back-to-back inversions as riders twist and untwist their way over a steeply banked hill.
AlpenFury will debut this season in a brand-new themed area of the park called Alpenfest. While an official launch date for the coaster’s opening has yet to be announced, their social media indicates they are working to have it opened early in the season and to stay tuned for future updates.
