It seems that Mother Nature is blessing us this February after a bitterly cold and grey January, with a week of sunshine and mild temperatures for the start of the month.
Despite the return of cloudier days, temperatures will remain unseasonably warm throughout the rest of the week, especially as we approach Friday.
According to The Weather Network’s forecast, Toronto could reach a high of 9 C by the end of the week with accompanying rain showers.
Surrounding suburbs such as Mississauga could even reach 11 C, a stark contrast from the -30 C wind chill temperatures from mid-January.
Sadly, the spring-like highs will be short lived, so don’t stow away your parkas just yet.
Sunday and Monday’s forecast will return to winter temperatures of 1-3 C, with a risk of wet flurries.
The Farmers’ Almanac released their Extended Spring Weather Forecast a few weeks ago, calling for a “Polar Coaster Spring” punctuated by stormy conditions and fluctuating temperatures.
However, according to Wiarton Willie the groundhog, Toronto is in for an early spring after he did not see his shadow last week. Here’s hoping for our furry friend to be right!
