While Toronto will be pulling out all the stops for holidays throughout the summer including the upcoming Victoria Day weekend, if you just can’t get enough fireworks, maybe a trip to Niagara Falls is in order.
Home to one of Canada’s best tourist attractions, Canada’s longest-running fireworks series has just resumed its nightly fireworks shows for the entire summer, starting May 16 and happening every evening through October 13, 2025. In addition, Niagara Falls itself will be lit up in colourful lights, making the entire experience nothing short of magical!
The fireworks shows will take place each evening at 10 p.m. and lasts for five minutes. For special events including Canada Day on July 1 and Independence Day on July 4, the show duration extends to 9 minutes long. The shows will also occur during the Winter Festival of Lights, and on select other holidays throughout the year.
For the best views, Niagara Falls Tourism suggests watching them from outdoor spaces in Niagara Parks, from the Skylon Tower and Niagara SkyWheel, or indoors at one of the many hotels and restaurants overlooking the Falls.
You can even book a boat cruise under the falls to watch the spectacular show on a Falls Fireworks Cruise, which set sail every weekend from Friday to Sunday.
The shows will go on rain or shine, though strong wind may affect them. You can stay up to date and follow their full schedule on their website here.
While visiting Niagara Falls, there are a ton more attractions to enjoy, including this Mario Kart-like elevated racetrack or this thrilling 670-metre-long zipline overlooking the falls.
