Temperatures in the city have been unseasonably cool as of late, but that’s all about to change with what meteorologists are calling “severe weather” returning this week, followed by stifling highs in the mid-thirties accompanied with plenty of humidity.
According to The Weather Network, temperatures are expected to steadily climb throughout the week ahead, “although it will leave you wanting to stay indoors with a fan or air conditioning,” the site reads.
Muggy air will return to Ontario, with unstable weather and the potential risk of thunderstorms. Some may even become severe when a cold-front moves through the province.
Starting Thursday, you can expect rainy, humid, and windy conditions, while northern Ontario could see some showers and thunderstorms.
Temperatures in the mid-to-high 20s will feel like the mid-30s across southern and eastern Ontario, with the humidex making it feel like 33 in Toronto.
“This will create enough energy in the atmosphere for strong storms to develop upon the cold-front’s arrival later in the day,” The Weather Network reads.
By Monday next week, a heat wave is expected to persist, reaching the low-to-mid 30s until June 25.
